THE SCOTTISH VINTAGE BUS MUSEUM - 1999 TYNE-TEES RALLY
RRS 46 R, the Duple Dominant Leopard presented to the museum by Stagecoach, was repainted into its original Northern Scottish livery over the winter, with the intention of using it on several rallies in the 1999 season. The first of these was planned to be the Tyne-Tees rally on 6 June which it duly attended ..........

![]() .......... and ready to go (or so we thought). Thirty minutes later, after some professional advice on a stuck air valve, we were off. |
![]() Haggerston Castle, comfort stop ..... and minor adjustment to the wiper arm. (It got us back for tinkering, on the road back, just as the rain was getting heavy.) |
![]() Made up the lost time by foregoing the planned breakfast stop, and arrived safely at the rally starting point in Stockton-on-Tees .......... |
![]() .......... wrong again! An oil-pipe flange joint decided it had done its job for long enough, and had retired .......... |
![]() .......... luckily, a well used tube of gasket gooh was available to fill in the spaces .......... |

![]() .......... yes, and off we go, following the control vehicle which had kindly waited to show us a shortcut to catch the others at roughly the half-way stage. |
