HISTORY OF THIS VEHICLE
|
|
ASF 365 was new in June 1937, owned by Scottish Motor Traction (SMT). It was taken over by Alexander in 1949 and worked in Dundee. It was re-bodied in 1951 with a Duple C33F body and went to the Aberdeen depot. It was transferred to the Buckie depot in 1954 and later bought by FJB Paterson of Dufftown in 1964. It had the distinction of being the last pre-war bus to operate in regular service in Scotland before retiring in 1971. Garry Ward advises that the PSV Circle Fleet History notes that this bus originally had an Alexander B35R body which was scrapped by Alexander when the vehicle, along with others of the batch acquired from SMT, was re-bodied by Duple in 1951.
