Feature on London Route 15

London route 15 is run by Stagecoach East London out of Upton Park depot. Until recently it ran from Paddington via the city and Aldgate to Canning Town, East Ham or Upton Park but in 1999 was revised so most journeys terminate at Blackwall DLR with only the depot journeys continuing to East Ham. Alongside the standard RMLs in East London's attractive "retro" livery application, there are five RMs including three returned from Stagecoach Perth, and three ex Greenline RMCs. The RMCs and two native RMs still feature AEC engines, tungsten bulb lights and authentic style moquette seat covers, and are well worth looking out for, especially green RMC1461 which frequently turned out for all day service including Saturdays.

The Routemasters gave way to Dennis Tridents in the summer of 2003.

RMC1461 at Upton Park Star of the show was former Greenline RMC1461 which had been restored in original livery. It was seen at Upton Park in April 1998.
RM1527 in Regent Street One of the pair of RMs acquired from London Buses with the East London operation, RM1527 escaped the vagaries of refurbishment and was none the worse for it. It was seen in Regent Street in June 2000, having just given a smooth and pleasant ride to AECBus and fellow web conspirator ScotBus, who provided some of the photos for this page.
RM1269 at Paddington RM1269 was one of the three RMs returned from Perth to replace front-entrance RMA class vehicles exported to Portugal for sightseeing duties. It was seen outside Paddington station.

Another of the ex Perth RMs, RM1599 was also seen at Paddington. All three were re-registered with Scottish marks while away.
