THE SCOTTISH
VINTAGE BUS MUSEUM - LEYLAND LEOPARD RRS 46 R THIS BUS IS NO LONGER AT
THE MUSEUM (CLICK ON PHOTO FOR LARGER IMAGE) |

|
Stagecoach (Scotland) donated this 1977 Leyland Leopard
with Duple Dominant 49-seat body (right) to the museum. The vehicle,
registration number RRS 46 R, was new to W Alexander & Sons (Northern) as
NPE46 and was latterly number 131 with Stagecoach Bluebird Buses. The coach
is in complete condition and now only requires regular maintenance to keep it
up to reasonable rally standard. |

The intention is to provide an additional service to
members as well as promoting the social side of the museum by attending
rallies throughout the country, preferably within, say five or six hours driving
distance. This would include the likes of the Trans-Pennine, Tyne-Tees,
Halifax, plus others of interest, all within a day's journey. It is also
planned to use it in connection with museum social events. Below we see the
coach in its original livery (left) and in its restored simplified livery. |
