Last updated 26th May 2010 AEC Swift SM114 reappears in 2010 Following MB90's return to the rally scene in 2009, another London Country AEC Swift, short model SM114, was launched at Crawley on Sunday 28th March 2010. This is in the ownership of Country Bus Rallies, and should now become a regular at LCBS themed rallies in the southeast.
RT1 has been saved Built in 1939, RT1 is the first of almost 5000 AEC Regent IIIs built for London Transport in the post-war period, and was one of the most successful classes of London buses (arguably more so than the Routemaster). It was the subject of an appeal by the Cobham bus Museum to raise the £150,000 is needed to match a Swiss offer and keep the bus in Britain. The appeal has been successful and RT1 will now permanently reside at the Cobham Bus Museum - which itself will relocate to new premises at Brooklands during 2010.
